While I don’t object to managed hunting, the wilderness of Ontario is also used by many who prefer not to cause damage. The bears are not dangerous, but placing baits where hiking, and recreating near where bear hunting happens is dangerous. The decrease in distance for placing bear bait to 30m away from roadways and trails would increase the risk of accidents between other users of land and trails.
