This is another ridiculous change which in my opinion has no merit other than to accommodate bear hunters that are too lazy to walk a few metres from their ATV's to set up their slop buckets. This is just shooting not hunting.
This of course also creates a serious safety issue for all forest recreational users as high powered rifles are considered by their manufacturers to be dangerous within 4km or more!
I am also concerned that the lobbyists quietly are getting the Spring Bear Hunt fully approved again and during this time the significant extension of the Fall hunt into August was never changed back meaning bears are under the gun and bow from the majority of the time from when they emerge in the Spring to when they den again..
Yes I'm upset!
