Mines and their priority needs to be in balance with the natural progression of economic balance that currently exists in a given area. If 75 % at this point is Tourism then endangering this balance makes no sense. Even exploration should consequently not be allowed in such areas. One of our Provinces assets is clean water. Gold mine production can cause an arsenic environmental cesspool. Currently there is pressure to supply copper for these cars. Water and pristine watersheds need to be made a priority even by Min Of Mines and their mandate. Copper mining like Gold Mining is at the dirtier end of the Mining scale like Gold produces a serious arsenic exposure. Leadership is essential as Ontario navigates it’s destiny.
