Comment
The Town of East Gwillimbury is concerned about the changes to the Development Charges Act proposed by Bill 108, specifically related to the ability to fund key growth-related projects and infrastructure. In establishing the calculation of the Community Benefits Charge, as well as specific details related to the interpretation of the new legislation and proposed regulations, staff have made a number of recommendations and comments that were outlined in Council Report CS2019-10. This was presented to Committee of the Whole of Council on August 13, 2019. It was ratified on the same date during the Council meeting through the following resolutions.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Corporate Services, Finance Branch Report CS2019-10 dated August 13, 2019 entitled “Bill 108 Proposed Regulations” be received; and
THAT Council support the comments to the draft regulations to Bill 108, as outlined in Attachment 1.
