I understand that Ontario wants to exempt the logging industry from Ontario's Endangered Species at Risk Act until at least 2020. If these exemptions are approved, the already threatened caribou is at risk of losing the vast expanses of forest they need to survive, along with many other animals who live in the forest. Our ecosystem depends on these animals as well and it's balance will become... unbalanced, which affects us all.
It's unacceptable and irresponsible to exempt the logging industry from rules that protect the caribou and the boreal forest. Please don't put profits over protection of these animals and the forest or we may see the beginning of the end of an already endangered species, and this would be another Great Canadian Shame. We must learn to work WITH nature, not AGAINST it.
Thank you!
