Good day,
I'm a northern Ontario logging contractor that has been logging for generations. We support the endangered species act so in this we also support section 55 regulation. We need to get this problem figured out and figured out right. We would urge the government to provide a 5 year extension vs a 2 year extension so that the impact to our northern communities, businesses, and infrastructure doesn't take a huge dive which has been a great battle in the decades. If this extension doesn't go through it could be devastating to our communities in result of mill closures, loss of jobs, companies going bankrupt and small towns going vacant. For me personally if we lose our logging rights I will probably lose everything I have built in the last 10 years, I have invested 8 million dollars in equipment and have over 60 employees this could result in hard times not only for me but all of them as well . SO WE NEED TO GET THIS RIGHT
