I am in support of the proposal to extend Section 55 Regulation for Forestry, ESA. Before implementing the ESA, consequences to communities involved must be reviewed and compared to intended results. Also, we must be fairly certain that intended results are attainable. If increasing caribou population is the goal of the ESA, then we should have demonstrated evidence that caribou guidelines work.
The ESA is already negatively affecting private landowners, contractors, and wood supply for northern Ontario mills.
