re garbage collection
We are seasonal residents using garbage and recycling during the months of July and August. May, June and fall garbage is minimal and we take it home.
Cost to us for our garbage collection is 9x3=$27 per year(tags), as we put out one bag per week since we compost and recycle. Recycling costs (I believe) are already covered in our taxes. Paying $120-$150 per year more on our taxes to cover collection costs which will be of no value to us and seems to be exorbitant and gouging.
Due to the location of our cottage with narrow lanes and a steep bank the bins will have to be left on the roadside as there is nowhere to store them on the property. The new bins are much too large to be dragged up 46 steps to the laneway.
Are the new bins racoon and animal proof or will there be constant garbage spread over the ground?
