We in Simcoe County which includes Tiny are overwhelmed with the amount of aggregate mining occurring in our area. Our water comes from the Alliston Aquifer, one of nature’s last and purest sources of water in the world as documented by Dr. William Shotyk.
It has been recognized by many environmental agencies within Canada that the impacts of aggregate extraction to the eco system are significant and numerous, pollution of water quality, land, air, noise, wetland, wells, aquifers basically life itself is being compromised
We moved to Tiny in 2006 with limited understanding of aggregated extraction but have learned there needs to be better controls or even better new technology which will not adversely affect our environment and the basic right to clean water and environment.
We strongly object to companies having greater access to aggregate sources without enhanced regulations and scrutiny.
