Hello and thank you for accepting my comment on the proposed changes. I currently have a 2013 model year commercial vehicle that I purchased new. Within the first year of owning the vehicle the motor had a catastrophic failure that was not covered under warranty. To replace that engine would’ve cost me approximately $60,000 dollars on top of owing $140,000 on the truck at the time. To save money I decided to repower the vehicle with an older engine that was $6000. I have been using this truck for the past 6 years in Ontario with zero issues and the result of the last E-test was 0.5 out of 30. Your proposed changes would force me any many others out of business because we cannot afford to buy new equipment. I take pride in maintaining my vehicle to a very high standard. I have researched other newer vehicle emissions test results and found that they all had results similar to mine if not higher. My question to you is why is the government trying to put us (independent owner operator) out of business with these new rules they want to set in place?
