Please extend the current moratorium on water bottling permits. It is a first step in the right direction. Companies should no longer be allowed to participate in water taking practices for the purpose of selling bottled water. Water is a threatened resource for communities in Ontario - consider Centre Wellington as an example. It should be preserved and protected for our residents and future generations. This action will also support the reduction of plastic waste, as non-reusable water bottles are incredibly wasteful and end up filling of landfills and polluting our earth. The production of plastic water bottles also generates unnecessary pollution. It is obvious that the current moratorium is important, and eventually the province needs to move forward with banning water taking and water bottling practices.
