I commend the government for extending the moratorium on water taking. I hope this a first step to a complete end to any new permits in the province and a move to new policies and regulations to govern existing operations. I live near enough to a water taking facility in Northumberland County that I can see their bottling plant and see their trucks constantly on the rural roads. It seems impossible to me that our own well water supply can last when they are draining the water table at such a greedy pace. Water is an essential public resource and should NOT be a commercial commodity.
