Thank you for extending this moratorium on water bottling applications. I live in Guelph ON - as Guelph’s population continues to grow - as mandated by the Govt of Ontario - we are entirely opposed to ANY expansion of water-taking in Wellington County. Ideally, all regions designated as Places to Grow should be able to protect themselves from water-taking/bottling. Our communities require water for our citizens and industries to use. It is very bad planning to allow water taking from wells in these regions - policies must support the communities. In Guelph, Nestle is not an important employer and not a community contributor. The plant should be shut down, not expanded. And please do not let them expand to Elora either. If Guelph runs dry, we would need a pipeline from Lake Erie - that would be a shame and an economic burden that could have been prevented.
