Understanding the groundwater resources in the Province is key to establishing policies for its' use. Added pressures through such things as climate change and urbanization of the landscape can have a huge impact on both the quality and quantity of groundwater resources and related streamflows in the Province and more needs to be done to assess these impacts before decisions are made on land use and water extraction for non-municipal purposes. Priority must be given to existing and future domestic municipal takings.
