There is too much unnecessary use of bottled water leading to littering in towns and country trails. At least the bottlers should set up a bottle charge and return system similar to beer bottles, And be responsible for a recycling system.
Most towns and cities have safe drinking water and the use of bottled water should be discouraged. The Sudbury water is safe but our local Royal Canadian Legion sells bottled water and does not supply tap water. They blame this on health edicts. Whether true or a desire to make a profit I am not sure. Such practises should be discouraged.
So maybe the Ministry of Health should be invoplved
As for costs the bottlers should pay price equal to municipal water charges ( excluding distribution costs)
