As an architect, I think that this proposal will add significant red tape, liability and redundancy to a system that is already ineffective and slow. Not only does this impact my clients and will cost them additional money and time; but also impacts all existing registered design professionals who would need to perform additional training. Furthermore, this would increase the design professional's level of administration, which again would cost our clients more money and time. Architects already undergo significant continuing education every year, the additional training would add to our already large education requirements.
The construction process needs to be streamlined, adding additional professionals would bog the system down, will create unnecessary redundancy, and will add costs and additional time to our client's budgets.
