Cottagers have been at Rondeau for nearly one hundred years without substantially altering the environment, and have been instrumental in implementing most of the environmental management policies of the government in the past. The community is highly in favor of keeping cottages, because they contribute significantly to the local economy, not only during holiday periods, but with long-term investment and lasting contributions. It makes no sense environmentally, economically, or emotionally to divest the lands of these historic, financially sound, and low impact cottages.
