Neonicotinoids and other harmful pesticides should be banned. More than 30 economically important food crops in Ontario rely on insect pollination (U of Guelph). Worldwide, 1/3 of our food is pollinated by insects. Not to mention, THE WHOLE ECOSYSTEM WILL BE KNOCKED OUT without insects. Neonicotinoids are not essential andThere killing an important pollinator b and potentially harming us. We haven’t been using them in Ontario so why start now?! Human health is more important than green golf courses and cemeteries.
Also, Please do not disband the Ontario pesticide advisory committee. How else are we supposed to get reliable advice on pesticide use and the potential dangers?
