I believe the Ministry has had since December 2017 to "come up" with a long term proposal for cottagers at Rondeau Provincial Park. It is hard to understand why an additional 3 years is required to find this solution considering that Algonquin has received their extension in December 2017. It is also hard to understand why the Ministry may be questioning if cottages should remain in the park and why the extension will not be granted on December 31, 2019 as expected two years ago.

It is a known fact that the affect on our region will be financially dismal for many companies and service organizations should cottages be removed. Real estate will remain stagnant for 3 more years and existing cottage owners will be left in the "gray" area for 3 more years not knowing what to do or where their future lays in Rondeau. One wonders if this extension is a strategy for the 1% to buy some cheap lake front real estate over the next 3 years from vulnerable cottage owners not knowing the fate of their property that has been owned by their families for generations. Time will tell.

In my opinion, a 3 year extension is so unfair for so many. I promote making the decision for a long term solution now.
