Dear Minister Yurek,

I strongly agree for the long-term occupation of cottage lots in Rondeau Provincial Park. Whether the government plans to provide long-term lease extensions or to sell the lots to cottagers, either option is appropriate, and supports provincial law and policy.

Rondeau cottage structures provides refuge for more than 80 species at risk (the highest found in any Ontario Provincial Park . The cottages and associated activities protect the park’s rare and endangered wildlife.
Private cottages are compatible with this goal.

"I support the three-year lease extension as described in ERO Policy Proposal 019-0907. This new lease extension should be granted automatically to all leaseholders. This time should be used to reach a permanent solution that will ensure the cottage community remains forever. If a permanent solution is reached prior to the three-year deadline, I support it being implemented as soon as possible.”
