As a frequent visitor to Rondeau Park, I fully support the proposed three-year lease extension as described in ERO Policy Proposal 019-0907. I believe this new lease extension should be granted automatically to all leaseholders. During this period, I believe every effort should be made to reach a permanent solution that will ensure the cottage community remains forever. If a permanent solution is reached prior to the three-year deadline, I support it being implemented as soon as possible. The cottages have been an integral part of the Park's history and represent the cultural history of the Park. The cottages only take up a tiny fraction of the land within the Park and I believe cottage owners are committed to protecting the ecology of the Park. Having cottages in the park does not equate to a negative impact on the ecology of the Park. Park's are meant for the enjoyment of all visitors - and Rondeau has supported this vision since the Park's inception through carefully managed cottage use and programs for day visitors.
