This is all part of a piece of the Ford government's attempt to dismantle all environmental oversight in the province. What the proposal touts as "efficiency" is nothing more than a backdoor way of making sure that people who actually care about Ontario's natural heritage are shut out of the assessment process.
Yet another fob to industry, and yet another attempt to sell out the province's natural heritage. I wonder how much industry donated to Ford to get this cozy fob to its interests . . .
