As a recent forest technician program graduate, reading this privides a lot of hope for the future of forestry. However, I believe that this does not address some areas properly. I think that more focus onto protecting wildlife and being environmentally concious is needed. When i read "remove barriers to acessing wood" to me the easiest (and least morally acceptable) way is to reduce environmental regulations; this route is wht im afraid to see happen with the global climate.
Our forestry sector is amazingly sustainable and I believe that more publuc education so that the layman public can understand the benifits, and true sustainability is something else that needs to be expanded upon.
I am excited to see the direction of the Ontario forest sector in the coming years, and hope that i chose a sector to work in that truly values the environment and continues to without undermining sustainability for increaced profit.
