Forest harvesting affects tourism opportunities negatively. Buffer zones around cottage lakes and recreational trails and canoe routes should be expanded to ensure that outdoor recreation activities are not negatively affected by the harvesting process or its aftermath. A buffer zone of 1 km around all recreational areas would go a long way to ensuring that these two uses do not conflict.
