I do not agree with the proposed changes and am surprised at the position of the government given the interest of the Ontario people in protecting the environment and the diversity of our wildlife. This proposal is short-sighted and not in the best interests of current and future generations.

I ask for an open, transparent debate on any proposed changes to environmental acts and a public consultation. I ask that the results of the public consultation be used to determine the direction of alteration of the environmental act.

I ask for the involvement of conservation scientists in making changes to the act as their expertise allows for a complete understanding of the consequences of proposed changes.
