I support the proposed changes to include the protection of species at risk under the authority of the CFSA and an approved FMP. Species at risk receive protection through the implementation of FMP AOC prescriptions and Conditions on Regular Operations and through regular compliance monitoring. Read more

Absolutely no changes should be made that weakens the Crown Forest Sustainability Act, 1994. Instead of reducing vigilance in protection, we should be strengthening the Act to remove all threats to the integrity of the notion of sustainability of the forests: clear cuts are not a best practice.

I would recommend that any changes to the Crown Forest Sustainability Act give priority to the safeguarding of biodiversity, to minimization of the scope of habitat destruction and to rigorous protection of species at risk. Read more

I am very encouraged to see this proposal and fully endorse it. We need to reduce red tape and duplicative legislation. Forest management on Crown land under the CFSA provides long term sustainability of our forested ecosystems for all forest dwelling species - currently species at risk or not. Read more
