I live in rural Ottawa valley where hunting is a big part of the area. My husband hunts deer so we are not opposed to hunting. However, the spring bear hunt is simply put cruel. Let’s wait for the bears to come out of hibernation with their young, and while they are most vulnerable as they are exploring looking to forage from a long winter and then shoot them. Cubs need their mother to survive plain and simple. I know in my area bear sightings are scarce one or 2 a year I see so I would find great pleasure in ensuring that we do as much as we can to increase the population of bears in my area. Its my hope that we put a stop to this idea. Thank you .
