I am very interested in the essence of the strategy but skeptical a bit for all new parties to understand the economics about accessing the available Ontario fibre.
Realistically, the cost of fibre that is available is of lower quality or difficult to access. There is complimentary fibre that is accessible and helps improve forest level economies of scale but all willing partisipants need to be contributing. I commented on a few areas in the strategy but do not seem to be able to attach them. However, I am willing to share them directly or to meet to discuss them.
Just to get a few ideas in:
If parties are thinking to replace traditional fuels, I do not think the investment community is
ready and they will take 5-10 years not helping the immediate situation.
Basically, utilizing trees for heat energy or electricity is the quickest realization of value. Bio Heat is as competitive as heating oil but is based on feed stock generated locally. District Energy systems will further improve the carbon footprint and to add value.
Intensive forest management will improve yields and reduce area management considerations.
