Re: Proposed amendments to Ont. Reg. 244/97 and the Aggregate Resources of Ontario Standards under the A.R.A.
As residents of Caledon for over 30 years, our family has lived with an aggregate industry that has been very active and prosperous here for many decades. I have monitored the aggregate regulatory environment with considerable interest during this time and can appreciate the inherent conflict between the interests of the general public and the industry.
My comments and suggestions to enhance the above proposed regulatory changes are in the pdf attachment below.
They include comment on sections 1.1.1 (Water Report), 1.1.3 (Natural Environment Report), 1.3.1 (Notification and Consultation Timeframes), 1.3.2 (Notification and Consultation Process), 1.3.3 (Objection Process on Private Land), 3.3.1 (Site Plan Amendment Process), 3.3.3 (Amendments to Expand an Existing Site Below the Water Table) and 3.3.3 ( Amendments to Expand an Existing Site Below the Water Table).
