It is proposed that the specified date for municipalities to transition to the community benefits charges regime would be one year after the date the proposed community benefits charge regulation comes into effect. It would be more beneficial if municipalities were allowed to transition to the community benefits charges regime within one year of their existing Development Charges By-law expiring. This will then ensure that all municipalities are not trying to get consultants within the same time frame. This will then allow municipalities to get both studies done by the same consultant at the same time and possibly save money.
