The Township of Cavan Monaghan has reviewed the regulations and are concerned regarding the tight timelines and that we do not have some information (i.e. a Parks Plan) at this time and therefore it’s unlikely we can complete the required plan in the time frame suggested. There are multiple items, such as; 10% deduction, removal of admin studies, and a thorough review to determine if a community benefits charge by-law is preferred over a basic parkland dedication provision of the Planning Act. This may also require the input of consultants, and with many municipalities in the same situation we may not all have access to this input and meet the timelines.
The township also supports the comments forwarded by Watson & Associates in their Letter to the Province on April 20, 2020.
