As a resident of the surrounding area I am deeply concerned with the proposal to expand the waste treatment at the proposed site. This site borders both a residential community with schools, homes and community centers. The access roads to the site are lined with homes who already deal with excessive large truck traffic front he existing businesses in the area. The site is also bordered by sensitive environmental areas which are home to extensive wildlife. Further increasing the exhaust of toxic materials into this area is irresponsible. With such limited park land and lake access in the Scarborough area the last thing we should be doing is degrading the smalls areas we have. Instead a winding down of environmentally damaging industries should be initiated to restore the waterfront to nature and recreational use. I fully appreciate there is a need for these industries however I am at a loss to understand why we would put them in developed residential and environmental areas. Please do not move forward with this proposal and consider alternative sites which are safe from residential areas and which do not further degrade sensitive and limited waterfront areas.
