As a parent, resident and teacher in this community I am concerned about the level of gases, dust and odor that will be released near our parks, housing, community programs, and waterfront biking and walking trails. Many of the listed gases are harmful not only to the people through increased risk of respiratory issues but harmful to the wildlife in the community but also the overall environment and climate. The creation of these unpleasant odors, gases and dust would reduce the usability of such parks as East Point Park which not only houses many baseball teams, but nature trails, a bird and butterfly sanctuary and a home to many wildlife animals in the forests and bluffs in the area. With an elementary school so close to this site I find it extremely irresponsible to build a facility that would release, carbon dioxide, total reduced sulfur, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, methane and particulate matter. Please reconsider the addition of this facility before the quality of life in our beautiful diverse community is destroyed. The city made mistakes in the past by allowing plants to be developed in this area, now that the area is so established and so many people are at risk let's not repeat these mistakes.
