I have only recently become aware of the proposal for Coronation Organics Processing Centre at 633 Coronation Drive, Scarborough, Ont.
As a 29 year resident of this neighborhood I strongly object to this.
Site is very close to large residential neighborhoods which have been there for many years and this processing Centre is not appropriate for the area.
Hundreds of trucks accessing the site through small residential streets.
Streets where there are schools, public community facilities and TTC route, there are already problems with volume of traffic in the neighborhood.
There are already many trucks in the area accessing plants at the south end of Manse road.
Additional Emissions and Air Pollution concerns in the area.
Noise concerns as plant will be operating 24 hours per day, every day of the year.
Danger of vehicle accidents causing spillage of hazardous waste on residential streets where children will be walking backwards and forwards to school, residents accessing TTC stops and neighborhood facilities.
633 Coronation is not an appropriate site for this type of processing plant. So many trucks carrying such hazardous material should be situated in a more remote area with easier access than through residential neighborhoods with the danger that residents will be exposed to.
Please take my concerns seriously.
