We believe this would be devastating to the area as they are planning to cut a path thru some very sensitive environmental areas. They will pave over thousands of acres and destroy countless acres of tress and habitat for many animals including some on the endangered list. They will be cutting across rivers and streams as many as 53 times. These rivers not only provide a fast amount of drinking water to the GTA but also help with natural flood protection. In order to quick track the project the Ford government is trying to alter the Environmental Assessment protocol. If successful it will allow them to devastate areas such as the Oak Ridge’s Morane – the Humber River Valley etc.. They will be able to destroy designated Green belts areas with no input from the communities.
