I'm a Maser Falconer in the USA practicing falconry for 12 years. In all my experience and education relating to falconry and wild take, I've not learned of any adverse impact from taking certain raptors from the wild as hunting partners. In fact, taking the juveniles of an allowed species increases their chance of survival as a falconry bird and beyond when released. I totally support the proposal to increase the number of wild raptors (birds of prey) that can be live-captured by Ontario licensed falconers to use as hunting companions.
