Comments on Traffic Impact Study for Coronation Organics Processing Inc.
1. Movement counts not taken at study area intersections. Traffic data at Kingston Road (Highway 2) and Highway 401 used which is 4 to 10 years old.
2. Population growth comment 2.3.1 suggests a decrease in the study area from 2011 to 2016. This statement is amount of development taking place in the community.
3. Comment in Section 2.4.1 “the AM and PM peak hour traffic generation for the adjacent developments do not exactly align with the AM and PM peak hour in the traffic counts”. So how relevant is this analysis?
4. Appendix B Traffic Count Data is dated information. Graphs based on 2011 information.
5. Appendix C is 2006 information.
6. Section 2.5 Existing Year Traffic Volumes – are these actual counts for the roads in question i.e. Beechgrove, Manse, Lawrence, Coronation?
7. Section 3.2 Table 6 where is Beechwood Drive?
8. Section 5.2 Queuing Analysis is questionable given the dated information and personal experience accessing Lawrence Avenue from Beechgrove.
9. What effect will the large trucks turning east and west onto Lawrence Avenue have on the TTC buses bringing passengers to and from Rouge Hill Station during peak hours
We need up to date traffic count information so the effect on traffic movement at prime intersections can be analyzed. Development is occurring at a rapid pace in this community and the City needs to maintain and improve traffic flow for public transit to a major GO station (Rouge Hill). The safety concerns associated with large trucks continuously travelling thru a residential neighbourhood by schools has not been addressed.
