This area supports school and residential communities including school buses, TTC, crosswalks, both indoor and outdoor sport and physical activity venues and walking paths; seems hardly fitting for the processing of organic garbage site.
The biogas plant to operate 7/24 will add additional stench to an area that already struggles with this issue due to the near by water treatment facility. Additional pollutants both facility and truck related will also impact the neighborhood. The volume of trucks entering and leaving the organic garbage facility 7/24 will be dangerous to students and residents alike due to the volume of trucks, noise level, including back up alarms which do not appear to have been factored into the Acoustic Study. Such a condition needs to be revisited together with other “on site” truck related noise levels and safety conditions/impact to a residential neighbourhood. There are so many less populated areas to accommodate such a site. This community already has its fair share of “identifiers” with the water treatment facility, try as we might to disguise it.
