My father in law is an active falconer and I have experienced firsthand how important his bird is to him. I support this proposal for several reasons. For one, I feel eliminating the draw for common birds of prey will improve fairness. It also allows all apprentices from the beginning to get the right bird. Lastly, I’m very glad to see the addition of goshawks as this will give falconers the ability to fly a very important species. Overall this proposal will improve falconry in Ontario.
