Although I am not an OFO member I support the submission by OFO which opposes this proposal to increase the number of raptors that can be captured for use in falconry. As a birder I am very aware of the decrease in the number of raptors overall in the province. I am not sure where your evidence comes from that raptors have a stable population in the province. Having done Annual Baillie Birdathons I can tell you that the number of raptors we see have seen has decreased greatly over the last 25 years. You may think this is anecdotal but recent annual hawk watch data across the province also shows this decline very clearly. Bird Watch International is working hard around the world to stop the capture and hunting of raptors. Ontario's decision to do otherwise is not comprehensible in anyway.
