Please do not approve the organic waste processing and biogas facility proposed for 633 Coronation Dive.

I have already commented that I think that the location selected at 633 Coronation is inappropriate for what will the largest green bin waste processing plant in the Province of Ontario for the following reasons:
- it is very close to established residential neighbourhoods
- it is close to schools and parks and sensitive environmental areas and Lake Ontario
- it is 6 or 7 km from the closest major highway, and the connecting routes pass through residential areas and past busy shopping centres and schools
- the site is remote from both the source of waste material being collected and the digestate being sent to farmland as fertilizer
- the plant will be 10 times larger than the largest existing site

The section which follows provides a concise summary of my concerns and includes maps comparing three existing sites in the GTA with the proposed site for southeast Scarborough. It was drafted by resident of Westhill who lives close to the location proposed for the plant.

Reviewing the proposal for an anaerobic digestion facility at 633 Coronation Dr in Toronto, it was important to compare it to some of the biggest similar facilities in Ontario.

What was found was quite shocking. A document showing the differences is attached, but the summary is below.

One site processes 1240 tonnes per day, while the other 3 process 75, 205, 150 tonnes. That ismore that 5 times the BIGGEST other facility in the assessment.

One site has approximately 220 truck trips per day while the other 3 have 4, 15, 12 (almost 15 times the number of trucks to the next closest facility)

One site has trucks travel 5.9 km through residential roads, while the other 3 sites do not travel through any residential areas to get to a major highway.

One site is 6.4 km from a major highway, the other 3 sites are .6 km, .3 km and 1.2 km away from a major highway.

One site is 250 m away from the nearest home, where the other 3 sites are 700m, and over 1km away for the other 2.

One site is 350 m from the nearest school, the other 3 sites are at least 1km away from the sites.

One site operates 7/24, the other 3 sites operate 5/16
