In holding the producers of recycleable items financially responsible for the fees of recycling, its to offset cost from the government. However, the fees are going to be transferred onto the consumer (who often works and is getting paid a meager salary or hourly wage); which will result in higher cost for recycled items.
Given the economic climate, what price protection is afforded the everyday consumer, who may have lost their jobs due to the Covid19 situation and is relying on a fixed emergency benefit to operate their household?
Will huge recycling bins for apartments /condos be supplied free of charge to those areas? I mean the size comparable to the huge garbage bins. Will the city be coming around free of charge to collect the recycled items? If apartments are charged, the fees will be transferred to new rentals. If non-freehold condos, then condo management will be transferring fees to the condo owners. Again, their is not enough money to go around with this devastating economic hit caused by the Covid19 pandemic.
