Good Morning,
I was very pleased to learn about the suggestion that a community must be willing to be a host to a water bottling plant but disappointed that buried in this headline are two issues that are objectionable.
The first is the 379,000 litre pumping limit without PTTW. Why is this amount changing from 50,000 litres it currently is. This will open up numerous problems and be more difficult for the Province to track the pumping of Ontario's groundwater.
Also, there has been a change regarding no need to apply for a pump test to learn about a well which is under consideration for bottled water pumping. This is absolutely unacceptable. All pumping must be tracked and documented.
Our governments job is to protect Ontario's water resources not find ways for corporations or big water takers to skirt around the rules.
Thank you for inviting comments.
