In reviewing the information on the proposed changes related to timeframes for approval process, smaller municipalities with limited number of staff may experience difficulty in capacity to review applications. In particular, staff resources will be needed to update municipal bylaws to be jn line with new regulations, while keeping up with the regular flow. This may have an impact on actual review times and lacknof clarity for proponents for a transitional period. The update of the Ontario Heritage Toolkit we hope will be a practical reference to guide in interpretation and process. When will it be released?
Relating to the prescribed materials for studies, more guidance on what the acceptable minimum sources to be consulted in tesearch and evidence to test a criteria for designation is required. Ideally, a fair finite minimum list sill help determine a level of acceptable quality and completion of a study.
