Thank you. It is not only a very good idea to transition costs of the blue box programme from the municipal taxpayer to the producers of the waste and the packaging, but it is also IMPERATIVE that this idea become legislation asap.
Unfortunately the manufacturers are no doubt going to pass the cost on to us but if we have to pay more to save our landfills, our water, our air and our soil, well - so be it.
DEFINITELY - PLEASE! expand the blue box programme to include multi unit residential buildings, schools, retirement homes, etc., etc. This could make a huge difference in what is being dumped into our landfills, waterways and oceans. They should have never been exempt from this
I live in only one of the retirement home here in London, and the amount of recycling that is picked up as 'garbage' is disgusting, disturbing and frightening
