Let’s call this what it truly IS: The slush-fund for ill-gotten gains of a grotesquely inhumane
pay-to-slay scheme —enabling developers to fast-track projects that should never be allowed.
Premised on destruction of habitats/homes of innocent creatures we are supposed to protect, this
so-called ‘Conservation Fund’ is a farce ensuring Species at Risk become extinct—seemingly the
goal. When that happens, no amount of money can bring them back!
My soul wants to scream in rightful retaliation, “A plague on the habitats/homes of all those who
helped concoct this monstrous scheme!” — but that would make me as bad as them.
Instead, I beg all ‘powers that be’ to do some soul searching— realize how wrong this whole
approach is and reverse changes to the Endangered Species Act that took away the protection it
was originally designed to provide.
All species have a right to exist—not just humans.
