I live in Stratford, a city now contending with an open issue that came about due to an MZO regarding Xinyi and a proposed glass factory. The issue is more than controversial as the Minister knows. The notion that an MZO is preceded by public disclosure and civic comments does not ring true nor does the public record show it. Current use of MZO's seems to beget more problems elsewhere...like the Distillery District in Toronto. How is it that the provincial government can step in unannounced and unwanted like this? Is there some force majeure imperative? Arbitrary and backroom oversight is contrary to a democratic core tenet. How is it that you don't see that?
