To whom it may concern:
I am strongly opposed to a very extensive glass factory by Xinyi, only 2km downwind from a residential area and only 4km from the city centre.

The production would involve massive emission of toxic waste, continuously 24 hours, for the first 12 years, then beyond. There is also concern about the effect of the carcinogenic silica dust from massive use of silica sand - 14 train cars daily. We have asked Xinyi several times to document precisely the type and amount of such pllution. It is not forthcoming, likely meaning that it is disastrous for the population. The factory's proponent claims that a 100m high stack will safely disperse any toxics into the atmosphere! What a prospect! But scienc and common sense tell us that it all comes down, only dispersed wider by the high stack.
The furnace to melt the sand, runs continuously at 1.600 Celsius!
How does all this effect the environment and global warming? We need answers.

Further concern is the fact that the production requires a daily draw of ca. 1,6 Million liters of clean water from the cities aquifer, again continuously for the years to come. There is lack of proof that this aquifer will not be exhausted or, when it might be.

A second production line is planned, which means double this amount of water and double the pollution.

The primary problem to these, is the use of an MZO without previous consultation of the public.
