I am in Strong disagreement with the use of MZO's to override sound planning practices . The present government has shown total disregard for science based environmental guidelines that were used by local watershed based environmental service providers - let alone all the other short sighted , ill informed and terribly irresponsible changes brought forward by this government .
MZO's were never meant to be used in this manner . The present Covid 19 pandemic has been used as a "smoke screen " to hide behind to push these orders through....shame on this government for such devious methods ....it's time to move beyond prioritizing developers fees and property tax revenues over public safety and our shared environment .
If latest example of the planned paving over of the " provincially significant " wetland in the Dufferin Creek watershed for a Casino , hotel & retail outlets ( certainly not the LTCare homes and affordable housing as said by the premier !!)...is this governments idea of " progress " , then it's time for a new , better informed government .
