Do not take away the heritage of these buildings in West Don Lands. Us as residents do not oppose development of the area and of the heritage buildings. In fact, we welcome it. But it must be done with foresight and community consultation, and care for the environmental and community impact. We need schools, groceries, community spaces, and affordable housing. We do not need a lie about affordable housing and an auction to the highest bidder to slam 150 stories of three tower luxury condos during a pandemic and afterwards. The residents are not screaming NIMBY about affordable housing, we are screaming NIMBY to politically corrupt backroom deals and cultural erasure of beautiful 100yr old heritage. Look at the Distillery District 300 metres away for an example of how we can have it all without bulldozers.
